I've got many games. There isn't much time. Do you get much homework? I've got many toys. There isn't much chocolate. He's got a lot of homework. | Use 'many'for things we can count. Use 'much'for things we can't count.
In questions and negative sentences we use 'much', but we usually use 'a lot of' in positive sentences.

Work in pairs. At the grocery store, Student A is the client. He or she wants to buy onions, carrots, bananas, butter, milk, bread, and rice. Student B is the shopkeeper. He or she is out of bananas and butter and he or she hasn't got much rice. Act it out for class.

You are going shopping for you mother. Here is the list of things you need to buy. Write sentences to ask your mother how much/ many of each thing she needs
